Grade 4 Math Unit 6

Students will learn how to complete metric conversions, as well as customary conversions for length and time.  Students will extend their knowledge of area and perimeter from third grade to complete multi-step real world and mathematical problems involving area, perimeter, and different types of rectangles. 

Grade 1 Math Unit 5

In this unit students will learn to tell time to the hour and half-hour using analog and digital clocks. The students will learn to identify coins and their values and to use the cent (¢) sign. The students will count combinations of dimes and pennies within 100 cents. The students also learn to measure and compare lengths using standards and nonstandard measuring tools. The students will organize, represent and interpret data, including asking and answering questions and comparing amounts across categories.

PreK ELA Unit 1

Get Ready to Read! empowers students with emergent literacy skills. In part 1, students learn how to have school-based discussions. In part 2, students prepare to read by previewing books and learning how texts work. In part 3, students engage in read-alouds and share information through discussion. In part 4, students respond to text through movement, art, play, and writing.
This unit should be paired with the Reading Foundations which focus on the acquisition of phonological awareness and phonics which are essential foundations for reading and writing. It is essential that these skills are not taught in isolation, but applied within students reading and writing.

PreK Earth and Space Science: Sun, Moon and Stars

In this unit, the students will learn about the nighttime sky. They will also develop a basic understanding of weather and weather patterns. They will learn about the importance of the sun and the effect it has on Earth.

In this unit the students will learn to identify community workers, their tools/equipment and their roles. They will also learn to recognize the importance of rules in keeping all people safe. They will begin to develop an understanding of rights and responsibilities. The students will also begin to participate in decision making by voting.
