Sample Schedule for K-5 New Learning

Based on the recommended time allocation guidelines above, elementary students in grades K-2 should receive new instruction in ELA and math for a total of 2.5 hours each week, with an additional one hour each week for learning in other disciplines.

Students in grades 3-5 should receive new instruction in ELA and math for a total of 4 hours each week, with an additional one hour each week for learning in other disciplines.

For the purposes of these time allocations, “new instruction” includes direct teaching (asynchronous and synchronous), completion of activities/assignments and feedback loop.

  • Monday:  15 minutes
  • Tuesday:  15 minutes

Math

  • Monday:  15 minutes
